Abstract
Aluminium alloys of 6xxx series as the major solutes are strengthened by precipitation of ß" and ß (Mg2Si) phases. In this present research work, we have investigated the aging parameters on precipitation sequence of two Al-Mg-Si alloys by hardness measurement and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The addition of 0.10 wt% Cu gave a slight increase in hardness and little influence the rate of aging.
